The Golf Academy at Flying Horse is part of the Golf Channel Academy network of strategically selected golf coaches and instructors throughout the United States.  Each golf instructor within the network is a group of high performing golf leaders who have been vetted and are considered the best based on Golf Channel Academy’s stringent criteria.  The Golf Academy at Flying Horse is a year-round facility designed to help players improve without being dependent on the weather.  Golf instruction is led by golf instructor, Garrett Froggatte who has been part of the Flying Horse team for more than a decade.

The golf instruction facility is located within a stunning 18-hole Tom Weiskopf Golf Course nestled in the center of the the Flying Horse Resort and Club in Colorado Springs. Complete with four heated hitting bays and state of the art synthetic turf. We welcome all golfers!  You don’t have to be a member of The Club at Flying Horse to take advantage of our Golf Academy instruction expertise.  Guests of The Lodge are offered the opportunity to train with one of the nation’s best instructors during their stay at Flying Horse.

Garrett Froggatte

Garrett leads the Golf Academy at Flying Horse located in a beautiful country club resort community in Colorado Springs, CO and has been with The Club at Flying Horse since 2008. Garrett guides his students to learn the most important and key fundamentals of the game first, then working together to fill in the details later. An accomplished junior player, Garrett played collegiately at Baylor University in Texas, where he competed alongside PGA champion Jimmy Walker. Upon graduation, he became an Assistant Golf Professional at Woodmoor Pines Country Club and had the pleasure of being an apprentice to Mike Bender, one of Golf Digest’s 50 Best Teachers in America. He has competed in the USGA Public Links Championship, multiple Colorado Opens, New Mexico Open, and shot 66 in the US Open local qualifying.

He taught at the LPGA US Open and enjoys teaching beginner and intermediate golfers to learn the game quickly and have fun in the process. He has coached over 100 juniors – growing the PGA Junior League from 0 to 4 teams and 48 players, having the benefit of seeing many of those juniors go on to play collegiate golf.
